An attack, problem, robber or a challenging situation does not come with a prior invitation. It just comes!
Consider yourself in a situation of being alone at a certain place getting surrounded by some people, ask yourself are you ready for such type of a situation?
Basic Self-Defense should be known by everyone, atleast this much that they can attack a little and run. Go ahead and find out about some of the best self-defense techniques.
The Soft Spots
Popular pressure points & soft spots include the knee cap, the back of the knee, the groin, the ears, the eyes, the nose, lower jaw and the throat. If you have access to any of these areas, give it a good punch or kick. Remember you can use your elbow, forehead and the open palm to attack too. Punches and kicks are not the only solutions.
As soon as the attacker touches you and it’s clear that escape isn’t possible, shout loudly, “BACK or HEY” and push him/her back. This does two things: it signals for help and it lets the attacker know you’re not a piece of cake whom he/she can chase with ease.
You don’t know how experienced is the attacker. If he/she is then they know that you have got the power to bounce on them. But, if he/she is not that experienced at this job then definitely he/she is going to be more scared than you.
When you are pushing, you are getting yourself time to think too. In 95% of cases on the first push itself, you will get to know if the attacker has got a weapon or not. If no and you are confident enough that you can have a fight then follow the post to get to know some great techniques for the combat.
A Hard Stomp Technique
Kick your opponent hard in the knee and then stomp with all of your power on the top of their foot. Since everyone’s feet are tender spots, this could break several of the attacker’s foot bones.
Even if not breaking bones, the attacker would not be able to chase you very easily. Because its gonna be very difficult for him/her to run now. No matter what size you are, a good hard stomp will give you a lot of time to make a call and run.
It is good to hit. But you must be knowing how to defend too. As soon as you get to know that, “Yes, now I have to fight”. Bring out your both your arms above your face, with your chin and lower jaw slightly bent because if you are hit on the lower jaw you will be laying down helpless. Keep one hand on top aligned with the forehead.
As the attacker approaches, bring your arms out, fingers extended, elbows slightly bent. Stop your attacker by raising your forearm inside your attacker’s oncoming arm, so he can’t hit your face. At the same time, use your other hand to make a perfect fist and punch your attacker in one of the soft spots (at this point best would be the lower jaw & nose) in the face whatever is available.
Don’t just punch someone in the chest or arms. People can strengthen their abs, legs, and other areas to offer protection from a hit, but there are some body parts they just can’t reach. “Aim for anything that’s made for breathing or breeding, that is, the soft spots!
The Most Flexible Part
If you get a chance, then latch on to their ear. If you latch it powerfully up to the last extent then. Chances are, they will jerk away and you’ll have an opportunity to run. Trust me it is really very painful.
Moreover, since the ear is attached to the head it will hurt. This is basically for you to run if you don’t want to fight.
Movement A Weapon
If you’re being attacked, the worst thing you can do is stand still – even if you’re not trained in self-defence. Unless they have a weapon to you, you should always attempt to fight back. Don’t believe that standing still will make the process over faster. It usually only puts you in even more danger. Keep moving and analyse the attacker from top to bottom. Show that you’re not going to allow them to attack you by fighting back and going for any available soft points.
Whenever walking towards your car or to another destination late at night, keep your keys between your ring and middle finger in your dominant hand. Keeping the key accessible means it can be used as a weapon if you are attacked. Remain Calm and Collected. Yes, it is really difficult to stay in that situation, but a calm mind gives clear and impactful thoughts whereas if you’ll panic then the situation would mess up.
It needs lots of courage and not strength to hurt someone because you have never done that before-hand. But obviously it is on your life and you have a do or die situation. So, just think less stay calm and execute whatever you got. If you got something sharp, try to poke his/her eyes with that. We all know how badly being poked in the eye accidentally can hurt. So just imagine the kind of pain you can cause if you purposefully go for the eyeballs.
